The Laurier Marketing Conference is a speaker series where industry professionals provide insights into the field of marketing.

Titled “The Future of Branding: A Forum for Technology in Marketing”, the Conference provides an opportunity for delegates and speakers to network and discuss new ideas and concepts in the quickly evolving consumer marketplace.

Laurier Marketing Case Competition

LMCC is a case competition with a marketing focus. It’s a full-day competition that allows students to apply their textbook knowledge in a real-world business setting. The competition offers students the opportunity to work in teams to solve a marketing-based case by applying their problem-solving skills.

Hawk’s Den

WLU’s second annual Hawk’s Den Competition; based on the popular television show “Dragon’s Den”. Students can create teams of two or three to compete. They will be given a description of a newly released product and have to create a business strategy which they will present to a panel of LMA executives. Students will be judged on your originality, effective use of items and presentation.

Ace of Cakes

Date: Wednesday, November 9th 
Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm

An exciting event where members come together in teams and participate in a fun hands on marketing competition. Students will be given a cake and decorations galore. Your goal is to decorate the cake to your team’s liking and market it to a panel of judges. The judges will decide not only on the looks of the cake, but how well you it is being marketed. Come out and show your creative skills and win some great prizes!

Salamander Social

Ever wanted to embrace your inner creativity and create your very own cocktail to see it on the menu of your favourite local bar? Teams will choose their own ingredients and promote their cocktail to a panel of judges. The cocktails will be judged based on appearance, taste and marketing pitch. 

Hawk’s Nest Social

Date: Tuesday, October 11t @ 7pm
Location: Hawk’s Nest, Turret
Fee: Free for members (LMA membership is $20)

LMA can’t wait to get to know all of its new members and be reunited with its returning members. It gives the new members the opportunity to meet each other as well as lets the executives get to know their dedicated members. Come by for some poker, nachos, drinks and laughs! Great way to network and hang out on a school night!
